Spread the word through Facebook
Join the group "The Cool Capital Challenge" and invite your friends to join the group and take the challenge, this will really be a powerful way of spreading the word.

Start a Team

Get your workplace, congregation, or neighborhood signed up to make an even bigger impact. Start a new team anytime. Then, when someone takes the challenge (or later), they can add their savings to your team total. See all teams. 

Become a Carbon Buster
Carbon Busters go beyond their household pledge to become leaders helping to galvanize family, friends, neighbors, community centers, schools, businesses, congregations, and agencies to take the challenge too. This is what they do:

·         Make changes in their own homes

·         Encourage others to make changes

·         Work with Cool Capital to spread the word

·         Help partners meet the Challenge.

·         Help mobilize other Carbon Busters.

Become a Partner

Donate to Cool Capital. Cool Capital has been largely a volunteer effort. It will take a lot more to turn all of those pledges into real carbon dioxide reductions. Help us turn the tide.

I'm helping an all-volunteer local effort to reverse the climate crisis.  It's called the CoolCapital Challenge.  It's a one-year, one-billion-pound carbon diet for DC and the whole region.  It's amazing- we're already a quarter of the way toward our goal, and we're looking for people who care to join us in saving money and energy. The idea is, instead of waiting for other people to act, we can all work to help each other make the changes right now - in our homes, our businesses, our schools, our congregations.
